Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated fashion designers, is celebrating two decades of creative excellence with the launch of her Spring/Summer 2026 “Anniversary Collection” in Lagos. The show, held on November 16, marked a milestone in her journey, blending her signature vintage glamour with a bold African identity while recommitting to nurturing emerging talent.
Since launching her eponymous fashion house in 2005, LDA has made a name for herself through couture womenswear, ready-to-wear, jewellery, and headpieces, always rooted in craftsmanship and storytelling. The anniversary collection paid tribute to that legacy, bringing together models, celebrities, and surprise musical acts in an event that felt as much like a cultural celebration as a fashion spectacle.
A central part of the evening was the relaunch of LDA’s mentorship program, Runway Renaissance, which supports emerging designers working with sustainable practices and artisanal craftsmanship. Three young talents were spotlighted for their work, reflecting LDA’s commitment to ethical production and the next generation of Nigerian designers.

The collection itself showcased LDA’s signature aesthetic: sculptural sleeves, fluid silhouettes, detailed stitching, and a rich dialogue between traditional fabrics and modern textures. Adire, a traditional African cloth, was combined with delicate Chantilly lace, creating a contrast that felt both grounded and dreamy. The colour palette was symbolised in emerald green for growth, gold for triumph, and sunlit yellow for joy.
Reflecting on her journey, LDA says, “Fashion has never been just fabric and thread for me.” Clothes hold memories, the scent of celebrations, and the pulse of our ambitions. They are silent witnesses to who we are and who we’re becoming.”
The anniversary celebration was supported by major partners, including the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Bank of Industry, Standard Chartered, Heineken, and PrivĂ© Events. The evening also featured a documentary highlighting LDA’s journey, giving guests an intimate look at the discipline, resilience, and artistic bravery behind every design.
The runway was star-studded, featuring models and personalities such as Dabota Lawson, Nancy Isime, Idia Aisen, Sabrina, Aduke Shittabay, and Beauty Tukura, showcasing the collection with grace and elegance. As she closes one chapter, LDA made it clear that this celebration is not just about reflecting on the past, but building the future. Her 20 years of Fashionhion are a reminder that style is more than aesthetics; it is legacy, community, and a catalyst for what comes next.
